Punch Buggy is proud to have such a diverse staff with hearts full of love for music.
Our team has unusual beginnings. We did not know it, but this lineup was cemented at the recent Mk.gee concert in Durham, North Carolina. The dedication that everyone showed through their coverage of that show made me realize that this would be our team. Rather than being born of an application process, this group was selected based on mutual respect and admiration for each other.
After one year as a solo project, we proudly present the Punch Buggy team!
Carson Breyer

Carson Breyer is an independent music journalist and videographer based in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2023, he founded Punch Buggy after archiving an online record store he operated through Depop. Fueled by a curiosity for genres unexplored, he developed a love for R&B, soul, hip-hop, and bossa nova despite spending his early childhood listening to classic rock. His discovery of new genres and artists inspires him to share music with anyone itching for the same feel. He is a massive champion of physical media, fueled by his collections of CDs and biographies of his musical idols.
Carson credits his influence to Nardwuar, Annabelle Kline of That Good Sh*t, and fictional space-interviewer Clancy from Netflix’s The Midnight Gospel.
